About the Author:

Junzo Sasamori (1886 - 1976) was a Japanese educator, political leader, and kenjutsu instructor who balanced public service with a lifelong dedication to martial arts. A graduate of Waseda University, he held major academic and religious leadership roles, including president of Aoyama Gakuin, while also earning a PhD from the University of Denver. He served in Japan’s national legislature and cabinet in the postwar era and led the All Japan Student Kendo Federation, helping promote traditional swordsmanship. Awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure.
