Ugo Legrand started practicing judo at the age of 3 at his father's dojo in Grand-Quevilly, where his father was an instructor.

Coming from an athletic family, he is surrounded by relatives who have excelled in judo and Greco-Roman wrestling at high levels. Ugo Legrand is a French judoka competing internationally in the lightweight category (under 73 kg).

After securing numerous junior titles, he achieved significant success by becoming a 2011 Team World Champion. In 2012, he earned the title of European Champion and won an Olympic bronze medal. He officially announced his retirement from high-level competition on October 8, 2015.
