Great title

Not sure about the bad reviews I’ve seen on this book. It’s overall well written and well thought out work on the complex world of Japanese Swordsmanship. The author immediately clears many of the myths and stereotypes associated with feudal Japan. Especially the advent of “civil” swordsmanship vs. battlefield swordsman. Lot’s of interesting perspectives on a tradition that’s wholly cinematic in the western world.
