Instructor and Supervisor: Isamu Uehara
Chief Master of the Uechi-ryu Karate-do Promotion Association Shubukan. Born in 1939, he is the fourth son of Issei Uechi, the founder of Uechi-ryu, and the founder of the Promotion Association, Sankichi Uehara. He began studying Uechi-ryu under his father, Sankichi, at the age of 11 and moved from Okinawa to Tokyo at the age of 24. In 1965, he opened a dojo in Bentencho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the propagation and development of Uechi-ryu, inheriting the techniques and spirit of Issei Uechi and Sankichi Uehara.
