The Secrets of Yagyu Shinkage Ryu Book
At Shunpu-kan in Nagoya, the techniques of Yagyu Shinkage-ryu are passed down from Yagyu Genshu, the last Owari Yagyu master of the Edo period, through Kobe Kinshichi. The author studied at Shunpu-kan and is currently the head of its Kanto branch.
This book begins with an easy-to-understand explanation of the history of Yagyu Shinkage-ryu, which began with Kamiizumi Ise-no-kami Nobutsuna, the founder of Shinkage-ryu, and has been passed down through the Yagyu family since Yagyu Sekishusai Muneyoshi. It then discusses the Shinkage-ryu tradition of Genshu through an interview with Shunpu-kan director Kato Isao, and approaches the true value and secrets of Shinkage-ryu from all angles, based on the author's own practice and research into traditional writings. After many years of research, the author found a conclusion in the "Shinkage-ryu Military Catalog" left by Yagyu Tsuneya. This book also includes the main traditional writings of Shinkage-ryu, making it the author's culmination.
