Born in 1950 in Saitama Prefecture, Kuroda Tetsuzan learned his family's martial arts from his grandfather, Taiji Tetsushinzai. He is the headmaster of Minyaryu Iaido, Komagawa Kaishinryu Kenjutsu, Shishin Takumaru-ryu Jujutsu, Tsubaki Kotengu-ryu Bojutsu, and Seigyoku Koguri-ryu Sakkatsu-jutsu. He continues to pursue the authentic movements of martial arts with his disciples at the Fushukan Dojo. Kuroda is his real name. He remains a star-like presence in the modern competitive martial arts world, admired by many martial arts enthusiasts who seek authenticity.
