Okichitaw Indigenous Weapons: Gunstock Warclub, Tomahawk & Knife DVD by George Lepine

Okichitaw is an Indigenous martial art based on the traditional fighting methods of the Assiniboine and Plains Cree warrior nations. In this compilation, Chief George J. Lepine introduces three of the most feared weapons of the Indigenous warrior: the Gunstock War Club, the Tomahawk, and the Knife.

The Gunstock War Club was one of the most powerful impact weapons of its time. In addition to delivering devastating strikes, it could also cut and jab. Its resemblance to a rifle often caused opponents to believe the warrior was armed with a firearm, providing a significant tactical advantage.

The combat Tomahawk remains one of the most iconic weapons of Indigenous warriors. Chief Lepine explains its fundamental concepts in detail, covering training methods, throwing techniques, the twenty core movements, defensive and offensive applications, and effective counters.

The program concludes with the traditional training methods for the Mokiman knife. Practicing alone while using the natural environment—including trees, the ground, and water—students learn to develop efficient body mechanics and generate maximum power for practical application.
