KO Karate Basic Kata and Bunkai Kyokushinkai
Kyokushinkai style is recognized world wild for its KO combats and by extreme training. But the Katas and the training are an essential part of this martial arts. Every great Kyokushinkai champion have also great technique.
Shihan Bertrand Kron, many times finalist at the European Kata Kyokushinkai championship, presents in this film the basic katas that are the 5 Pinans. Each Kata is presented in slow motion, and through different angles, then explained. Each sequence movement is shown in concrete application (Bunkai) in the idea of the Kyokushinkai: absolute respect of the kata move, but combat realism. Sensei Jérôme de Timmerman then presents the kata at real speed.
This film is a fantastic pedagogical tool. It is the fruit of 25 years of personal research and teaching at the Branch-Chief FKOK, official kata instructor at the European Kyokushinkai of the INSEP of Holland for the summer camp at Papendal.
