Norichika Tsukamoto Born on February 4, 1974, in Nagasaki Prefecture. In 1996, he debuted and won the 6th World Championship, becoming the youngest-ever world champion, shining a spotlight. He also won the 28th All Japan Championship in the same year, followed by the 29th All Japan and the 1st World Cup in 1997 in the heavyweight division, becoming a renowned name in the karate world. Known for techniques like the "Mach Kick," unusual roundhouse kicks, heel drops, and spinning kicks, he gained fame as a revolutionary. In his long career, he explored various styles and established elegant sparring based on nimble footwork in recent years. He achieved his fifth victory in the 42nd All Japan Championship in 2010, declaring his last battle in 2011 with overwhelming strength, becoming a world champion for the second time and the oldest ever. Currently, he serves as the head of the Setagaya-Suginami branch of New Kyokushin, striving to foster future champions with his own hands.
