Tsuneo Ando: Born in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture in 1956. After working for a trading company, he entered Yoshinkan as an apprentice. Through 20 years of rigorous training, he established an unwavering "central strength." His universal desire to seek the truth has earned him the trust of other martial artists. He currently heads the Yoshinkan Aikido "Ryu" sect.
Yasuhisa Shioda: Born in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture in 1952. The third son of Gozo Shioda, he began practicing Aikido in junior high school and lived in the UK for three years from 1981. He contributed greatly to the spread of Aikido overseas. With his mature techniques and cheerful personality, he has been active in writing books and appearing on TV. He is currently the head of the Yoshinkan Takadanobaba Dojo.
Susumu Chino: Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture in 1964. He entered Yoshinkan in 1985 and became an apprentice the following year. He has an insatiable desire to learn and outstanding skills, and is currently a 6th dan. He is the last instructor to remain as an apprentice of Gozo Shioda. He is active at the Takadanobaba Dojo as well as government offices, universities, community centers, and more.
Gozo Shioda: Born in Tokyo in 1915. At the age of 18, he became a disciple of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido, and trained under him. In 1954, he won the top prize at the Japan General Kobudo Tournament. His fame as an Aikido master spread both within Japan and overseas. He founded Aikido Yoshinkan in 1955. He passed away in 1994.
