There are various styles of making Japanese swords, and they are characterized by the times and regions. Yamatoden, Yamashiroden, Bizenden, Soshuden, and Minoden are commonly referred to as Gokaden. Among them, Bizenden occurs in the area centered around Bizen, present day Okayama prefecture. Sword styles changed as the times changed. The most prominent of these is the Soden Bizen.
The Soden Bizen is a Bizen biography that is characterized by its gorgeousness, and incorporates the popular Soshu biography that appeared in the end of Kamakura, and it was created by many swordsmen and became a major trend. Sadanao Mikami was fascinated by Soden Bizen and is working hard on his work in Kitahiroshima. This is an introduction to the training techniques and works that were infallible by Mikami before Souden Bizen.
