Ahuapan Combat Eskrima: Filipino Martial Art Book by Greg Silhol
The vast majority of martial arts concentrate on the teaching of bare hands techniques. The Filipino Martial Arts have the particularity of focusing first on learning the use of weapons to forge the fighter and his physical abilities. Born centuries ago in the jungles of the Southeast Asian archipelago, and influenced by the western fencing of the Spanish occupiers, they are yet highly topical with their efficient and pragmatic approach of armed combat, and defense against an armed attack.
This didactic book invites you to discover the Filipino Martial Arts and to progress with the training methods of the Ahuapan Combat Eskrima school. It is intended as an introduction for the neophyte, and a tool for the advanced student.
From the learning of the footworks, basic strikes and counters, to the sequence of drills and disarms, this volume covers fundamentals of the Single Stick, the Double Sticks and the Knife.
110 exercises described in detail Illustrated by 500 drawings & photographs
