About the authors:
Yoshinori Kono, born in Tokyo in 1949, is a dedicated martial arts researcher with a profound mission: to explore the essence of "nature for human beings" through martial arts. In 1978, he founded the Shoseikan Dojo, delving into the study of techniques and principles. From around 1999 onwards, Kono extended his expertise beyond martial arts, applying his techniques to various sports. His curiosity spans diverse fields, including nursing care, musical instrument performance, and education. An accomplished author, Kono has penned influential works such as "The Spirit of the Sword," "Ideas from Ancient Martial Arts," and co-authored "Creating a Revolution from the Body." Kono shares his knowledge through weekly online videos and a monthly email magazine, "Kaze no Saki, Kaze no Ato," distributed via Night Flight.
Shinichiro Okada, born in 1972, is a multifaceted professional, combining roles as a physical therapist, care worker, and care support specialist. During his tenure at a facility for the physically disabled and the elderly, Okada sought innovative methods of physical assistance. His path intersected with Yoshinori Kono, a martial arts researcher, leading to the groundbreaking concept of "kobujutsu care" based on ancient martial arts techniques.
