About the Instructor:

Katsuhiko Shinzato
Born February 10, 1939, in the Philippines. Began training in 1957 at the University of the Ryukyus Karate Club. In 1967, joined the headquarters of the World Matsubayashi-ryu Karate-do Federation at Shoshin Nagamine’s dojo. In 1980, apprenticed under senior student Chokei Kishaba of the Nagamine dojo. In 1982, studied under Choyo Kishaba, a master of Yamane-ryu Bōjutsu. Founded the "Okinawa Karate-do Matsubayashi-ryu Kishaba Juku" in 1998. Following the passing of Chokei Kishaba in 2000, became the head of Kishaba Juku, a position he holds to this day.
