About the Goju Ryu Senbukan Dojo:

The Goju Ryu Senbukan Dojo has a rich history rooted in traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate. Founded by Seikichi Toguchi (1917–1998), a direct student of Goju Ryu founder Chojun Miyagi, the dojo emphasizes preserving the essence of Goju Ryu while innovating its teaching methods.

Seikichi Toguchi established the Senbukan Dojo in 1948 in Naha, Okinawa. As a highly respected martial artist, Toguchi combined traditional Goju Ryu kata and principles with his own interpretations, creating new kata and techniques to help students understand the deeper aspects of Goju Ryu's "hard-soft" philosophy. His efforts were aimed at making the style more accessible to students of all levels while staying true to its roots.

The term "Senbukan" translates to "House of the Thousand Warriors," symbolizing the dojo’s vision of training dedicated practitioners who embody strength, discipline, and humility. Over the years, the Senbukan Dojo has become known for its focus on kihon (fundamentals), bunkai (application), and the spiritual aspects of martial arts. It continues to influence the practice of Goju Ryu Karate worldwide.
