About the Instructor:
Sun Ritsu (real name: Sun Li) is the Third Generation Master of Yiquan / Head of Taiseikan, International Yiquan Association and was born in 1955, in Beijing, People's Republic of China.
At the age of 14, he studied Yiquan under Wang Jinming, a disciple of Master Yao Zongxun.
Afterwards, through an introduction by Mr. Wang Shichuan, a direct disciple of Master Wang Xiangzhai and senior disciple of Master Yao, he fulfilled his long-held wish to become a student of Master Yao. He spent eight years under Master Yao's tutelage until his death. He also trained under Master Bin Shiming, who is currently the Honorary Vice Chairman of the Beijing Yi Quan Association in China and a junior disciple of Master Yao Zongxun, before coming to Japan in 1986. He began teaching Yi Quan the following year, 1987. Currently, as the director of the International Yi Quan Association's Taiseikan dojo, he is based in Japan and teaches around the world. He also holds the rank of Honorary 7th Dan and serves as a tournament advisor through his relationship with Kyokushinkan's Director, Lu Shan Hatsuo.
