About the Author:
Born in 1939 as the eldest son of Ryu Shorin, the 30th head of Shorinji Shorinkan, he learned the family martial arts tradition from an early age. In 1950, he became a direct disciple of Master Takeda Ryuko, where he studied Takeda-ryu Kiaijutsu and Daito-ryu Aikijutsu, and was transmitted to the next generation at the age of 19. At the age of 28, he established the Japan Aikido Headquarters Dojo and began to teach the next generation.
