Great Grandmaster Willy Lin has a wealth of knowledge about this style and was instrumental in introducing it to the United States. Lin was a student and teaching assistant in Taiwan to respected teacher Wang Jyne-Jen, the sole inheritor of the Tien Shan P'ai style.
Tien is a northern style of Kung-Fu, Lin stresses the rhythm, the demonstration of power, as well as blacks and strikes, high kicks and low sweeps, as well as locking and throwing techniques, the graceful empty hand and weapons forms. Then Shan Pai self defense is characterized by angular attacks coupled with multiple blocks and essential footwork.
This book is a must have for anyone who wants to know about Tien Shan Pal, and features Willy Lin in clear photographs demonstrating each technique.
