  1. Deflecting Attacks with "Sabaki"

    • Ippon-dori: Basic forward movement.
    • Kote-zume: Lowering your foot, making your opponent lean forward.
    • Maki-zume: Slightly deflecting outward, opening your body, and floating the opponent.
    • Kote-gaeshi: Lowering your center of gravity, destabilizing your opponent up and down.
    • Kake-te irimi: Deflecting, closing in, and dropping your opponent.
  2. Attacking the Opponent with "Posture"

    • Te-gatana-zume: Balancing with posture, concentrating power in the feet.
    • Obi-otoshi: Straightening your posture to float the opponent.
    • Kakae-nage: Combining posture and deflection to entangle and throw.
    • Kake-te gassho-dori: Using posture to float the opponent straight.
    • Tsuki-taoshi: Combining posture with the movement of the hand sword to push down.
  3. Transmitting Body Power with "Hand Swords (Arms)"

    • Aiki-age: Imagining a core running through the hand.
    • Kote-gaeshi: Tightening the armpits, extending the opponent's elbow to break balance.
    • Aiki-nage: Constantly directing the hand sword towards the opponent.
    • Hiji-kudaki: Not using the power of the hand sword, but transmitting power to it.
    • Kara-mote: Applying hand sword and attacking with body movement.
  4. Neutralizing the Opponent with "Kuzushi"

    • Gyaku-ude-dori: Using posture and deflection to move the body into a destabilizing position.
    • Ura-otoshi: Breaking balance with posture, deflection, and hand sword.
    • Ippon-tan: Using the wrist against the palm, utilizing the contact point.
    • Tenchi-gatame: Not breaking balance but making it naturally happen.
    • Hiji-kudaki: Dropping to the apex of a triangle with both knees as the base.
  5. Controlling the Opponent with "Center"

    • Ippon-dori: Attacking the center while deflecting.
    • Kuruma-taoshi: Lifting the chin with posture.
    • Shiho-nage: Raising the hand sword to the opponent's throat (center line).
    • Kama-te-zume: Constantly controlling the opponent's center.
    • Sankajo: Transmitting power from the hand to the core.

Atsushi Yamamoto is the head of Daito-ryu Aiki-Jujutsu Yamato-kai. He teaches in Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Tokyo, and Nagoya. In addition to domestic instruction, he also teaches internationally in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia. He actively participates in various classical martial arts tournaments, contributing to the promotion of Daito-ryu Aiki-Jujutsu.

Great video.

The only inconvenient was that the DVD has no English subtitles but the techncal content of it is excellent.
