Shizuo Imaizumi Aikido's Hidden Gem Book by Antonio Aloia

Arriving in New York City from Japan in 1975, Shizuo Imaizumi quietly taught aikido beyond the spotlight, despite being a direct disciple of the founder and of Japan's most prominent instructors. In 1988, he formed an organization defined by the absence of hierarchy and politics, forging on to teach with remarkable detail and discretion. Drawing on personal testimonies and archival resources, this work brings a long-overlooked instructor into view, revealing Shizuo Imaizumi as a hidden gem of American Aikido.
