8 Hours of In-Depth Kung Fu Instruction

In advanced levels of Long Fist training, students should already have a solid foundation in footwork, hand forms, stances, and body conditioning. San Lu Pao and Taizu Changquan are advanced sequences that especially build upon the skills learned from intermediate training. These traditional sequences are an excellent way to take your Kung Fu to a much deeper and more refined level of understanding and expertise.

Shaolin Long Fist Advanced Sequences challenges you to push your limits physically and mentally. Students are encouraged to use the techniques and concepts learned from this video to derive and create techniques effective for sparring and real-life situations. Taught and demonstrated by Nicholas Yang, each form is divided into four sections to help you learn gradually and proficiently. Both sequences are presented with in-depth instruction, training exercises, and martial applications.

San Lu Pao means "Three Ways of Running.” It is the first advanced Long Fist sequence in the YMAA curriculum. San Lu Pao focuses on the fluid integration of speed and power through several hand and leg techniques, while also pushing the practitioner's endurance and sense of enemy.

It is said that Taizu Chuangquan was created by Emperor Taizu in the Song Dynasty (960-976 A.D.). It is an advanced sequence that enhances and develops a student's knowledge in Long Fist fighting techniques while specifically training a combination of rooting, balance, and power.

Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming makes a cameo appearance to discuss the history of each sequence.
