Ima Ninja (“Ninja Now”) is a Japanese-language book by renowned ninjutsu teacher Masaaki Hatsumi, exploring the ninja not simply as a historical warrior, but as a model for adaptability, awareness, ingenuity, and personal transformation.

Hatsumi draws upon the principles and philosophy of ninjutsu to discuss how a person can respond intelligently to changing circumstances, free themselves from rigid ways of thinking, and develop greater mental and physical flexibility. Rather than functioning solely as a technical martial arts manual, the book emphasizes the psychological and philosophical aspects of ninjutsu and their application to everyday life.

The subtitle, Kono Chiteki Henshinjutsu, can be translated roughly as “This Art of Intellectual Transformation.” The cover describes the book as an introduction to the ninja way for breaking through the restraints people unknowingly place upon themselves, shedding unnecessary burdens, and living boldly and vibrantly.

An interesting vintage work for readers and collectors interested in Masaaki Hatsumi, Bujinkan, ninjutsu, Japanese martial arts philosophy, and the modern interpretation of ninja traditions.
