Instruction and Supervision: Morio Higaonna

Born in 1938 in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, Morio Higaonna studied under Miyagi An'ichi, a senior disciple of Goju-Ryu's founder, Chojun Miyagi. With a guiding principle that "it begins and ends with kata," he serves as the Chairman and Chief Instructor of the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Federation (IOGKF), imparting his knowledge and expertise across the globe.

Chojun Miyagi (1888-1953)

Under the guidance of Naha-te's founder, Kanryo Higaonna, Chojun Miyagi mastered karate. His exceptional talent and dedication led him to establish Goju-Ryu, one of the four major karate schools. Throughout his life, Miyagi tirelessly devoted himself to the advancement and popularization of karate, earning him the esteemed title of "bushi" (warrior) for his prowess and character.
