Ensei Juku Practical Self-Defense Karate is a self-defense martial art founded by Headmaster Taizo Ito, which pursues practical and logical movements. Its origins lie in the "Sabaki" technique learned from the late Headmaster Hideyuki Ashihara at the Ashihara Kaikan, and it places a greater emphasis on practical combat, focusing on attacks to the face and vital points. Techniques that will ensure victory in a world where fractions of a second matter. That is Ensei Juku Karate.

About the Instructor: Taizo Ito was born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1965, he entered the Muhara Kaikan Tokyo Headquarters Dojo in 1984. He received instruction in sabaki from instructor Makoto Yoshida (currently the head of Shin Taiikudo Hirohara Makoto), who was the instructor at the time. In 1987, he returned to his hometown of Kyoto and became an instructor at the Muhara Kaikan Kyoto South Dojo. During his two years of teaching, he began to question whether true self-defense was not about parrying the opponent's attacks while receiving them, but rather about avoiding them as much as possible. He further reexamined the fundamentals of karate and focused on their effectiveness. In 1989, he left the Muhara Kaikan and decided to pursue his own path in karate research. He founded the Tsukite Research Dojo, which later became Ensei Juku. He has worked to resolve each and every question about karate, and has continued to research self-defense techniques, such as how to attack the body's vital points. He is the head of the Practical Self-Defense Karatemon Seijuku.
