**A Journey to Discover the True Form of Traditional Martial Arts —and the Truth That Lies Beyond**

At a time when many regions of China were still closed to outsiders, the author crossed the sea in search of the strongest martial techniques—traveling across the mainland to find unknown styles and hidden masters.
His journey became part of the history of how the once-mysterious world of Chinese martial arts was first opened to the Japanese public.

This book conveys to the next generation of martial artists the true history and techniques of traditional martial arts, as learned directly by Matsuda through personal encounters with lineages and masters.
