About the Author:

Masatake Fujita (1937–2014) was a prominent Japanese aikido master who held the rank of 8th dan and served as the Aikikai Hombu Dojo's General Affairs Director for over three decades. Born in Iwama, Japan, Fujita began practicing aikido in his early 20s under Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of aikido. Known for his precise technique and rigorous training methods, he played a vital role in promoting aikido both in Japan and internationally. Fujita’s teaching emphasized strong basics, practical application, and the spiritual principles of aikido. His contributions to the global spread of aikido and his administrative leadership at Aikikai helped shape the organization’s modern structure and influence.
