You can see the whole picture of Yagyu Shinkage-ryu from the basics to the secrets.

The Yagyu Shinkage-ryu was passed down from Yagyu Genshu, the last Owari Yagyu master of the Edo period, to Director Kato Isao at the Shunpu-kan dojo in Nagoya. The sword techniques of Edo samurai remain intact there. This book was written by Akabane Tatsuo, head of the Kanto branch of the Shunpu-kan, as a compilation of the techniques of Yagyu Shinkage-ryu that he learned at Shunpu-kan, as well as its philosophy, body control, and history.

In order to make it easy for first-time readers to understand, the book clarifies the history from the establishment of Yagyu Shinkage-ryu, the rise and fall of Owari Yagyu and Edo Yagyu, and the process leading up to the current Shunpu-kan, and then visually develops the characteristic techniques with detailed disassembled photographs, and also approaches the secrets and true value of Yagyu Shinkage-ryu, symbolized by the phrase "Katsujinken". In addition, the book also considers the ancient Japanese body control that has been passed down continuously in Yagyu Shinkage-ryu. And for the first time, it also reveals the sword-drawing force method, naginata, and spear techniques.

Ten years after the publication of "Learning Yagyu Shinkage-ryu," this book will serve as a milestone in correctly conveying the "facts" and "principles" of Yagyu Shinkage-ryu to future generations.
