The Heart of Karate-Do Book by Shigeru Egami (Hardcover) (Preowned)
A rare, late-life masterpiece (published posthumously in 1986) and spiritual successor to The Way of Karate. In this beautiful, photo-rich book, Egami distills 50 years of practice into the purest essence of Shotokai karate: total relaxation, unity of mind and body, and the pursuit of one perfect, effortless technique.
Far more philosophical and introspective than his earlier work, it focuses on the inner transformation of the practitioner rather than forms or fighting. Considered by many the deepest and most advanced book Egami ever wrote — a quiet, profound meditation on karate as a path to self-realization.
