The simplified, short Yang-style Sunrise Tai Chi sequence is practiced to both the left and right to help you develop symmetry and balance. Tai chi chuan has been known for centuries to promote deep relaxation, excellent health, and to prevent injuries and illness. These easy movements will stretch and strengthen your body, and improve your circulation of oxygen and qi energy.
The program also teaches you to find balance between strength and flexibility, increase bone density, and massage the internal organs, improving your quality of life and daily physical performance.

This tai chi form is used as a mind/body intervention at Tufts Medical School to improve general health and specifically to prevent and treat osteoarthritis of the knee, its side effects and symptoms, as published in The BMJ (British Medical Journal), as well as for chronic pain/fibromyalgia prevention and treatment as published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Master-teacher Ramel Rones has witnessed first hand the profound long-term benefits of tai chi and qigong practice. Since 1989 he has been working to improve the lives of cancer and arthritis patients. He is a scientific consultant on mind/body therapies at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and Tufts School of Medicine, as well as co-author of numerous scientific publications. He is the author of Tai Chi P.M. Practice and Tai Chi Energy Patterns (YMAA). A senior disciple of martial arts master Dr. Yang, Jwing- Ming in Boston, Massachusetts, Ramel is a gold medalist in internal and external martial arts competitions
