KUJI: The Nine Syllables Book by Richard Sears

Much mystery has surrounded the topic of kuji. According to legend, one who practiced the kuji could read and protect thoughts, perform extraordinary feats of courage, heal self and others, and even become invisible. The real magic of the kuji comes from the paradigm shifts achieved through controlled experiences gained through a prolonged period of study and practice. Spark will not shoot out of your fingertips when the hand signs are made. The magic is in your mind.

There are many subtle and hidden meanings that are difficult to translate.

One can refer to the original Japanese, though the manuals use old style writing and sometimes deliberately use the wrong characters. This translation is the translator's humble first attempt, and any comments or suggestions are welcomed.

Two different kuji manuals have been translated here for the reader's comparison. Whereas the first book seems to deliberately mislead and use incorrect characters from time to time, the second book seems a bit more "user friendly". Those items in brackets are notes from the translator.
