Develop the body and movement skills for lifelong martial arts practice.
Progress in karate takes time. Consistent practice builds skills that cannot be rushed.
In this instructional DVD, Masao Kagawa demonstrates and explains two Shotokan Ryu kata: Bassai Dai and Nijushiho. Kata brings together the techniques learned through basic training, allowing practitioners to practice against imagined opponents. Repetition is essential to developing these movements.
With demonstrations filmed from the front and side, detailed explanations of selected movements, and interviews on the purpose of kata training, Kagawa offers guidance for karate practitioners who want to continue improving throughout their lives.
