The Functional Beauty of the Body and Sword

How to Become a Captivating Swordsman

Stage sword fighting (tate) resembles martial arts,
but it is not martial arts.
It is a performance created together with another person.

However, just as in martial arts,
understanding yourself, your opponent,
and the weapon known as the sword
is an essential theme of stage sword fighting.

In this program,
the key points of sword speed and power
as functional beauty in stage sword fighting
are explained in an easy-to-understand manner.

(Masahiro Wakisaka, Stage Sword Fighting Instructor)
