“Tomari-te: The Final Legacy”
Karate is Kata. The true essence of Kata is found here.To preserve the rare techniques and body mechanics of Tomari-te for future generations, this first volume has been created under the guidance and demonstration of Sensei Takahiro Shinjo of Kenryu Doshikai. It features instructional content on representative Tomari-te Kata: Wanshu, Naihanchi, Seisan, Ananku, and Oyadomari Passai (Tomari Bassai).
The content includes demonstrations of each Kata from the front, side, and rear angles, as well as detailed applications (Bunkai). The Bunkai also cover close-range grappling techniques (Torite), helping practitioners understand the true essence of each Kata. Furthermore, Sensei explains how to generate speed and impactful strikes using Gamaku—a unique method of body movement. This is a must-see for Kumite athletes as well!
