"To absorb the opponent's force, not deflect it, is the essence of Hua Jing (transformational energy)."

In Tai Chi, Jingli (internal power) is indispensable, and to develop it, one must cultivate Neigong (internal work).

This DVD provides fundamental training methods for mastering Hua Jing and Fa Jing (explosive power) through Push Hands. The practices featured include listening skills (Ting Jing), the five methods of Hua Jing, and the six methods of Push Hands to achieve a deep connection with the opponent. The focus is on internal power that is not reliant on muscular coordination but is instead grounded in true Jingli.

DVD Content:

  1. Relaxed Fluid Push Hands Training – Toward Tai Chi

    • Practice using "Flat Circle," "Standing Circle," and "Eight Characters" for fluid movement and energy flow.
  2. Developing Jingli

    • Clarifying the difference between Jingli and muscle strength.
  3. Push Hands Training – Without Pre-emptive Moves

    • Generate force based on the relationship with the opponent.
  4. Hua Jing

    • Absorb the opponent's force rather than deflect it.
  5. The Importance of Ting Jing – Perceiving without relying on sight

    • Learning to sense the opponent’s force and intentions.
  6. The Relationship Between Hua Jing and Fa Jing

    • Absorb the opponent’s force (Hua Jing) and release it explosively (Fa Jing).
  7. Achieving Unity with the Opponent

    • Integrating with the opponent, space, and the universe to achieve Tai Chi balance.
