SMS&C GRAPPLER SERIES VOL. 1
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Workout #1
Warmup/Strength & Mobility
These 8 movements will increase core temperature while moving through full range of motion. This series is designed to warm you up, not tire you out, as you prepare for more strenuous activity. Approximate running time: 15 minutes.

Workout #2
Strength/Core & Stabilizer Emphasis
True functional strength originates in the core, which consists of the large muscles of the back, abs and hips. Stabilizers are those muscles that connect the core to each of the limbs. The best athletes are able to more effectively recruit their core strength into their movements producing almost superhuman speed and explosive force. Each one of the 8 exercises in this workout incorporates your core and stabilizing muscles as it works your arms, shoulders, hips and thighs, to give you the edge of extra speed, coordination and power. Approximate running time: 22 minutes.

Workout #3
Strength/Conditioning
At the highest levels of any sport, it's the competitor who is in better shape that is going to win. Grappling is no exception. This workout contains 8 total body exercises that will strengthen every muscle in your body while taxing your energy systems to build endurance, making you tough as nails on the mat. All you need is a barbell plate and the desire to be in better shape than the other guy. Steve Maxwell will do the rest.
