Yasuhiro Tanaka Born on November 16, 1967, in Tokyo. He won the All Japan Senior Sambo Championships in the 74kg category in 1989 and 1991. He represented Japan in the World Championships continuously from 1987 to 1991, achieving his highest rank of 4th place in 1988. He placed 3rd in the 1988 Kaliningrad International Tournament and 4th in the 1989 World Cup. Not coming from a Judo or wrestling background, he is a pure "Sambist" known domestically as a top-tier expert in ground techniques and joint lock techniques and instruction. He serves as the Representative Director of the NPO Defense Plan Sambo Promotion Association, Executive Director of the Japan Sambo Federation, and Director of the Combat Sports Department at the Japan Wellness Sports Vocational School.
