Igor Zaitsev Starting in the navy, Igor Zaitsev trained extensively in MERSH hand-to-hand combat tactics and eventually became a principal organizer of GRU-SMERSH. He is a leading consultant in hand-to-hand combat training for the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs' special police forces. Additionally, he has authored numerous manuals for national security agencies and contributed articles to hand-to-hand combat-related books and magazines.
