About Masaaki Hatsumi:
Hatsumi sensei was born in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture in 1931. Since he was a child, he practiced all modern martial arts such as judo, kendo, karate, and aikido, but was not satisfied with this and decided to seek out many ancient martial arts. At the age of 27, he was introduced to the Togakure Ninja sect, via Toshitsugu Takamatsu.
He established the Bujinkan as a dojo that inherited the nine ancient style martial arts traditions that Takamatsu had inherited and passed on all of them. As a master of martial arts and a ninja who lives in the modern age, they boast great support, and there are many overseas military and police personnel among their disciples.
