Kyokushinkan was established to carry on the will of Mas Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Karate, who was praised as a god hand.

The philosophy of Kyokushin Karate is "grounded fundamentals, logical kata, and elegant kumite."

Going back to the origins, we explored body part training, the exploration of weapon techniques, and the training of kata.

After more than a decade since our previous book, "Karate-do: learning kata," we have reached a new horizon, setting us apart from competitive karate, and have produced this book, "Karate-do: mastering kata," as an introductory book to martial arts karate.

This book is a return to the origins of Kyokushin Karate and a summary of Kyokushinkan's thinking and approach as martial arts karate.

The main contents are what you need to obtain a first dan. For instructors, it is important to make good use of the content they teach at the dojo and distribute it in a well-balanced manner. It may be difficult to teach all this content within a set time, but I think the ingenuity in doing so shows the instructor's skill.[Main contents]
