About the Instructor:

David Swenson began practicing yoga in 1969 at the age of 13 under the tutelage of his older brother Doug. His introduction to Ashtanga came in 1973 from David Williams and Nancy Gilgoff. In 1975 K. Pattabhi Jois made his first visit to the US and Swenson initiated studies directly with him. David made his first trip to Mysore, India in 1977 to further his studies and at this time learned the entire Ashtanga Yoga system in it's original form as taught by K. Pattabhi Jois. David Swenson is recognized today as one of the foremost international instructors of Ashtanga Yoga.
