Defendu WW2 Combatives DVD 1 by Tommy Joe Moore
Tommy Joe Moore, British boxer, self-defense instructor and martial historian presents in this first work, Defendu (All in Fighting, Gutterfighting), one of the first mixed martial arts, and defense system for the Allied Special Forces in World War II, developed by the celebrated W. E Fairbairn.
After his career in the Marines, Fairbairn worked with the Shanghai Municipal Police (SMP), an international police force composed of Western, Indian, Japanese and Chinese officers, one of the world's first SWAT-style forces. This melting pot nature allowed him access to an enormous wealth of martial knowledge from East and West and thus to study Judo and Ju Jitsu, Gung Fu, the Lathi (Indian baton), Western Boxing, Savate, Wrestling and Bayonet.
During WWII, he trained commandos and SOE personnel, as well as men and women of all specialties, perhaps mechanics, librarians and typists before the war, and in a few hours, help them "toughen up" enough to face armed enemies with a few proven techniques, mental toughness and the determination to be, and remain, free.
In this first volume, Tommy Joe Moore focuses on the use of the Fairbairn combat knife, the principles of fighting, main objectives, elimination of sentries, other application scenarios, knife defense, and the Chin Jab, Jab to the chin, one of the simplest and most effective techniques in the system.
