Before ninjutsu exploded into mainstream awareness in the 1980s, there was Ninja Combat Method — a rare and historically significant early manual by Stephen K. Hayes.

Originally produced in 1975 as a limited-circulation training booklet, this work predates Hayes’ better-known commercial releases and captures a raw, formative stage in the transmission of Togakure Ryu–inspired teachings to the West. Created during his early years of training in Japan under Masaaki Hatsumi, this manual reflects the pioneering spirit of a time when authentic ninjutsu instruction was virtually unknown outside Japan.
