After over half a century of dedicated practice, he established a broad perspective on martial arts, blending karate, kobudo, grappling, and vital point techniques from the historical standpoint of the Ryukyu Islands. He has actively promoted martial arts worldwide, teaching in over 40 countries. In 1987, he founded the Okinawa Karate Museum. Besides his martial arts expertise, he is also renowned as a historian of Ryukyu culture and a calligrapher. His works include numerous books and papers such as "History of Okinawan Karate", "Okinawan Karate Chronicles of One Hundred People", and "Chronology of Karate History".
