About the Instructors:
Nobuyuki Sato (born 1957) is a highly respected Japanese judoka and coach. He began training in judo at an early age and achieved significant success, including a bronze medal at the 1980 World Judo Championships. Known for his technical mastery, particularly in newaza (ground techniques), he later became a prominent coach, leading the Japanese national judo team and contributing to numerous Olympic and world championship victories. He currently serves as the Chief Instructor of the Tokai University Judo Club, further cementing his influence on the sport.
Hidetoshi Nakanishi (born 1958, in Umi, Fukuoka, Japan) is a celebrated Japanese judoka and coach. He began judo at age nine and, after graduating from Tokai University, won the gold medal at the 1983 World Championships in the lightweight category and competed in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, finishing fifth. Known for his technical prowess, he has coached at various institutions, including International Budo University and Tokyo University. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Tokai University Judo Club, where he continues to influence the sport through his expertise and international coaching clinics.
