JKD Elements of Attack DVD by Tim Tackett
Unlike many martial arts, Jeet Kune Do emphasizes on attacks more than defense. Bruce Lee described JKD as “offensive-defense”. While many martial arts focus on defending an attack with some sort of block followed by a strike, our defense is based on attacking into the attacker. The idea is to intercept the opponent’s attack. Bruce Lee named this new art “Jeet Kune Do” which means “The Way Of The Intercepting Fist”. This new art was made up of mostly Western fencing, Western boxing and Wing Chun Kung Fu. In this DVD, Sifu Tim Tackett analyzes the ideas of the "Stop Hit", broken rhythm, primary and secondary attacks, the 5 modes of attack, feinting and faking, the lines of attack, the 5 straight blasts, and several examples of basic attack training.
