Born in 1977 in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, Yagi Akihito is the grandson of Yagi Meitoku, the founding head of International Meibukan and a revered figure in Okinawan Karate and Kobudo. Continuing his family's legacy, Yagi Akihito actively promotes traditional martial arts worldwide, overseeing approximately 100 branches across 30 countries. His contributions extend to cultural preservation and international education, reflecting his commitment to the global dissemination of Okinawan martial arts.
