Moritoshi Ikeda

  • Born in 1961 (Showa 36), he entered the Harukaze Kan Dojo of Nihon Denryu Heiho Honbu Kenpo under the guidance of Kengo Genjuro Sensei, who was the principal. He studied Honbu Kenpo for 15 years until Kengo Sensei's passing in 1976. In 1977, along with individuals associated with the Honbu family, he formed the Honbu-ryu Karatedo / Nihon Karatedo Honbu-kai under the leadership of the actual son of Honbu Asamasa, Soke. Around the same time, he joined the Honbu Goten Karate Association and studied under the 11th generation Soke, Honbu Asa Yu Sensei, succeeding the 12th generation Soke, Uehara Seikichi Sensei, in the "Ryukyu Kingdom's Bugei". Since then, he has been actively involved in Honbu-ryu Goten Martial Arts and Teikokan in Saitama Prefecture, aiming to inherit and hand down the martial arts he learned from Kengo Genjuro Sensei and Uehara Seikichi Sensei to future generations.
