What Does Aikido Teach Us?
Aikido aims to rejuvenate Japan and guide humanity towards peace (Morihei Ueshiba, Founder of Aikido). Through maintaining the body's axis with "central force" and using "breath power" within that axis, one can reach a state of "guidance" to effortlessly control an opponent. Author and direct disciple of the master Gozo Shioda, speaks extensively on this profound concept.
Why Aiki? What does Aiki teach us? And what is the true meaning of the founder's "prophecy"? The principles of Aikido seen through the techniques of unity provide the key to navigating our chaotic world. This work also includes photo explanations of the "basic techniques" and "basic movements" of Yoshinkan Aikido.
