Tetsuzan Kuroda is one of the great recognized masters of martial arts of Japan. In 1970, he became the youngest in history to receive the title of hachidan (8th dan) in Kobudo by the Dai Nippon Butokukai.
This exceptional practitioner is also an author of several books and DVDs that highlight principles governing the use of the body in traditional martial ways.
Tetsuzan Kuroda is the soke od the Shinbukan schools with specialties of Tachi, Kodachi, Ryoto, Naginata, Jujutsu, Bojutsu & Iaijutsu.
In this conference, he will share the intracacies with you of an age old art which nevertheless retains a great significance for our time.

About the Author: Tetsuzan Kuroda (1950-2024)
Born in Saitama Prefecture, Kuroda studied his family’s martial arts under his grandfather, Taiji Tesshin-sai, and his father, Shigeki. He was the head of five martial traditions: Miyami-ryu Iai, Komagawa Kaishin-ryu Kenjutsu, Shishin Takuma-ryu Jujutsu, Tsubaki Kotengu-ryu Bojutsu, and Seitama Koguri-ryu Satsujutsu/Kappojutsu. At Shimbukan Kuroda Dojo, he and his disciples pursued the true movements of martial arts until his passing in March 2024.
