Tetsuhiro Hokama (HOKAMA TETSUHIRO) Born in 1944. Hanshi Judan (10th Dan) of Okinawa Karate-do Goju-ryu, Head of Okinawa Goju-ryu Kenshikai Headquarters, Director of the Okinawa Karate Museum, Head of Hokama Kobudo, Doctor of Karate Studies. Since 1961, he has studied karate and kobudo under masters Seikichi Higa and Shinko Matayoshi. After over half a century of dedicated practice, he established a comprehensive martial arts perspective that integrates karate, kobudo, grappling, and vital point techniques from the historical viewpoint of the Ryukyu Islands. He has actively promoted martial arts worldwide, conducting teachings in over 40 countries. In 1987, he founded the Okinawa Karate Museum. Besides his role as a martial artist, he is also prominent as a historian of Ryukyu culture and a calligrapher. His publications include numerous books and papers such as "History of Okinawan Karate", "Okinawan Karate Chronicles of One Hundred People", and "Chronology of Karate History".
